Handmade lotions are as soothing to the skin as homemade soaps! Even my daughter (who is very picky about her body products) absolutely loves this lotion. It is a thicker base, which is formulated to moisturize both the outer layer of skin as well as soak into the inner layers of skin. Careful consideration was given to the specific oils that went into this recipe. With living in the desert, most skin is dry, even cracked at times. This lotion was created especially for those individuals with sensitive skin as well as very dry skin. A smidgeon of glycerin is added to the lotion to attract any moisture in the air to the skin, this adds to the moisturizing qualities of the lotion. I do not recommend putting the lotion on in the bathroom after a shower - wait until you are in a separate room with less humidity. That being said, in order to get the most moisturizing from any lotion, it should be used immediately after a shower, directly after patting dry. Lotion: I have been using this lotion for massaging legs, feet, arms and hands of individuals who have just come home from the hospital. They have ALL commented about how good their skin feels after the massage, not to mention how much better they feel! Ingredients: Distilled water, Emulsifying Wax NF, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba seed oil) Prunus Armeniaca (apricot kernel oil), Glycerin, Allantoin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid (preservative) 4 oz. = $4.50 8 oz. = $8.00 Herbal Lotion: My daughter babysits a couple of small children - one with a really bad case of eczema. Living in a dry area and being a small child, it is difficult to prevent the itchy/scratchy cycle. i made this lotion for her to try on the children and the parents absolutely rave about it. They have also been using Is It Really Soap on the children also. Ingredients: Distilled water, Emulsifying Wax NF, Prunus amygdalus (Sweet Almond), Vitis Vinifera (Grapeseed), Olea europaea (Olive) Oils, Plantago major (plantain), Symphytum officinale (comfrey), Matricaria recutita (chamomile), Glycerin, Allantoin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid (preservative) 4 oz - $5.50 8 oz = $10.00 Luxurious Lotion: This is made for the experienced or super dry skin. Great moisturizer and the oils help replace the elasticity in your skin. Ingredients: Distilled water, Emulsifying Wax NF, Limnanthes alba (meadowform seed oil), Emu oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, glycerin, Allantoin, Tocopherol (Vitamin E) Phenoxyethanol (and) Caprylyl Glycol (and) Sorbic Acid (preservative) 4 oz. = $5.50 8 oz. = $10.00 Preservatives are required in lotions that are not stored in a refrigerator or used immediately. Little nasty beasties grow in water based products unless an appropriate preservative is used. I use one of the most natural preservatives on the market and use as little as possible to stay within the safety guidelines. There are a variety of essential oils as well as fragrance oils which can be added to this base lotion or left unscented. The same fragrances that are in our soaps can be included in the lotions as well. They are: Lavender Hardwood Musk Sandalwood Amber White Cherry Blossom Blackberry Apple (yummie!) Cherokee Creek Strawberry |
